A Brief Respite Between Sessions

The pace has eased slightly in recent weeks—a welcome pause after an intensive teaching cycle. Stephanie's most recent 5-week in-person classes concluded successfully on February 17th, and her next series is scheduled to begin on March 24th. Leading these hands-on classes requires substantial preparation: designing the curriculum, gathering high-quality reference materials, setting up the studio space, and ensuring every participant receives personalized guidance throughout the session.

During this latest teaching cycle, Stephanie took an inspiring step of her own—she enrolled in a multi-week class that featured a unique format: live, one-on-one coaching delivered over Zoom. The experience gave her fresh insight into the student perspective and ignited new creative energy.

One striking result of that immersion is her 9×12 pastel painting, Shipwreck Cove. This atmospheric piece, created directly from lessons in her studies, captures the moody drama of a rugged coastline with deep, luminous layers of pastel. It now sits proudly on the shelf at the Frame Shoppe while framing materials are thoughtfully selected.

At the same time, another untitled work is just beginning to take shape. The early underpainting and initial color passages already show great promise, and we’re excited to follow its evolution.

This quieter interval between in-person teaching blocks is the perfect opportunity for exploration, experimentation, and personal artistic growth—for Stephanie and her students alike. We look forward to sharing details about the upcoming classes and revealing more new artwork as it emerges!
