Working in and Negotiating with Artificial Intelligence
We've all seen those wild AI caricatures popping up online—snap a photo, feed it to some digital wizard, and poof! A cartoon version stares back. Asking for the image is easy; accepting the hilariously exaggerated result? That's where the real challenge hits.
Enter McQuade Fine Arts. We just launched a YouTube channel (McQuadeFineArts.NH) to share the occasional video—something we rarely do. (Before merging SCMcQuade.com and PhotoPiks.net into our shiny new MFArt site, I think we had maybe three videos total. We're painters and photographers, not vloggers!)
To set up the channel, YouTube wants a profile pic—something featuring both Stephanie and me, squeezed into a tiny circular window. Perfect timing: back in 2025, our friend Linda Murphy snapped some great headshots of us individually and as a couple for another project.
I grabbed one of those couple shots, uploaded it to an AI tool, and typed: "Create a caricature based on the attached photo, in classic Mad Magazine style for our YouTube channel." Stephanie's got a smile on her face, but I did not, so I added "and make it more joyous and fun!"
Three minutes of nail-biting suspense later... BAM! The result had me laughing out loud. See what I mean by clicking this link.
Who knew AI could capture our vibe and crank the joy to 11? If you're into that over-the-top, Alfred E. Neuman energy, this one's a keeper. Check it out! 🚀
